Getting creative with my camera

The Anarchist

Wearing a gas mask, the Anarchist stands alone in a darkened cavern with an ignited smoke grenade held aloft. The grenade pushes out a plume of fiery red smoke which gathers over his head and spreads out to slowly engulf the heavy air. Small patches of daylight pierce through the thick walls, allowing him to slowly emerge from the shadows.

This photo is available to purchase on my store.

Pubs of Athlone

An abstract view of public houses in Athlone during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I wanted to do a project that was a little different and that was within the lockdown guidelines. Pubs are colourful places both inside and outside. Since their doors were closed, this was the perfect opportunity to showcase them in an alternative way. I chose to take three abstract photographs of each building and combine them to try and capture the essence of the pub.

Gundam Style

Just over nineteen meters tall, the Gundam robot (RX-0 Unicorn) towers over the human inhabitants of Tokyo.

The photo was made while on a visit of a life time to Japan back in 2018. The machine is a sight to behold, warding off any unwelcome visitors from another planet and keeping watch for an ever possible Godzilla attack.

This photo is available to purchase on my store.

Athlone town

The town where I live ❤️.

Located in the heart of Ireland is the town of Athlone. It has many iconic spots, one of which is the water tower in Battery Heights.

The water tower, erected c.1970, is shown here viewed from Roscommon Road. It stands tall and proud, protruding into the sky high above the surrounding houses.

On this particular day, it reminded me of the Mind Flayer from Netflix’s Stranger Things. Some red overlay gives this photo the look of the Upside Down.
